Last spring, the OBRC fundraising group had the brilliant idea of hosting an Old School Community Fundraiser. We put a call out to community members and business to support this event in hopes to update the canteen plumbing and facilities so we can offer more food options.
Well, Oak Bluff, you showed up for us! The social was not only an amazing and fantastic night of music and community, it raised over $7,000 to use towards the canteen renovations.
This fall, the canteen was dismantled, repaired and renovated to offer more variety to our community. We are so grateful for the support and hard work of everyone involved. We hope that you have been to the rink this winter to enjoy the new space and try out some new offerings! In case you haven't been able to pop by, check out the before and after photos below.
A special thank you also goes to Richardson Pioneer, who have been donating the cooking oil to the Canteen for many years. We couldn't do it without your support.
